摘要

Corrosion behaviors of some new metastable austenitic stainless steels have been studied by chemical methods and electrochemical measurement. The results show that nitrogen enhances the general corrosion resistance of metastable austenitic stainless steels (MASSs) in neutral environment. In the nitrogen content ranging from 0.14% to 0.25% , MASS shows better corrosion resistance at the higher content of nitrogen. Particularly, higher content of nitrogen leads to a stronger resistance to the pitting corrosion in MASSs.
