摘要

This paper reports the design and implementation of a Web-based information system ANTES (Acanthosis Nigricans: The Education and Screening Program) for the Texas-Mexico Border Health Coordination Office (TMBHCO), an organization created by the University of Texas System to assist with health service, health education and research in the border area. Among its duties is to serve as a centralized repository for data concerning acanthosis nigrieans and other obesity related information for the south Texas region. The ANTES system automates the entire process of collecting, archiving, processing and analyzing acanthosis nigricans and other obesity related data. The paper discusses issues dealing with this Web-based information system and reports problems that need to be addressed in the future.
