We studied the properties of the spontaneous emission from a three-level atom embedded in photonic crystals with a double-photon external-driving field. As a result of quantum interference and photon localization, the populations in the upper levels display osciallatory or complete decay behavior, which depends on the initial atomic state and the relative position of the two upper levels from teh forbidden gap. The external-driving field can also affect the spontaneous emission.
