Creep rupture tests have been carried out on 12CrlMoV steel widely used in fossil power plant over a range of stresses at 510℃, 540℃ and 570"C.The creep curves of the steel have been described precisely using the modified θ equation ω= θ_1t+θ_2(e~(θ_3~t)-1) The relationships among θi, stresses and temperatures have been established on 12CrlMoV steel. Thus, it is convenient that the long term curves of the steel at high temperature and lower stresses can be predicated. Then, the residual creep lives of the components at high temperature can be predicated. The creep rupture lives predicted by the modified θ projection concept and the L-M parameter method have also been compared in this paper.
