Concurrent Engineering always has been an important field within military industry and is gaining recognition within commercial industry as well. In order to fulfill the overall logistics objectives, product designs must incorporate consideration of the impact of design decisions upon operations, maintenance, transportation and supply. In this paper a model has been created and presented in order to carry out simultaneous optimization of a product design and its associated manufacturing and logistics support systems. This model forms a framework for decision support of concurrent engineering activities.
