The trend in "environmental design" in the areas concerned with the design of urban environment (generally referred to as environmental design) such as the urban design, the civic design, the landscape design and the architectural design as well as the industrial design was studied in order to evaluate the public space and elements design. As a result of analysis of concepts of these environmental designs, the urban environmental installation design was defined as the environmental design based on the industrial design. The urban environmental installation design was confirmed to aim at symbiosis of the public character of "legibility" and that of "ambiguity" and to study the indicators of "spatial identity" in design objects. This study aims to propose design methods for urban environmental installations by identifying the role and effect of their systematization and individualization in street planning. By comparing street planning projects of the same standards (on width, extension, etc.) but with different environmental characteristics due to different site conditions, we studied whether or not environmental characteristics of the street could link installations and whether new environmental values adequate for systematization and individualization of the street could be used for re-structuring the public scene with urban environmental installations. We further compared examples of street planning to see whether systematization and individualization methods of an open urban environmental installations system in the space, the intelligence and time series corresponding to correlation of the spatial, intelligence and time values would lead to a proposal for urban environmental installation design in the street space. Not only the results of improvements are evaluated and compared but also the concrete process of street planning are discussed based on the author's experiences.
