摘要

The standards and technologies of the output interface of reverse engineering and input interface of rapid prototyping are studied, a new method of product innovation design with free-formed surfaces based on direct integration of reverse engineering and rapid prototyping is presented to avoid the reconstruction of complex shape in traditional product design. Stereolithography (STL) models are direct generated from point cloud based on cross-section measurement and optical triangulation, and the prototype can be fabricated by rapid prototyping laser prototyping system (LPS) machine. A whole frame was raised based on these. The maturity solution of ASP is adopted to establish the networked service platform of RE/RP system. A type case is given to bring forth the system's application in the practical engineering .The practical use of the system indicates the potential of raising the ability of developing new products.
