In the computing world today, it is commonplace for multiple entities to request access to the same resource during a given time interval. Each resource normally controls mutual exclusion itself. This generally works for single resource access, but with multiple resource accesses sometimes this is not the best approach. Deadlock becomes possible if two nodes request access to the same resources and one of the nodes locks one resource and another locks a different resource. They are both waiting for all of their resources, but will be unable to obtain this. This paper presents a resource allocation solution that will allow entities to gain access to resources and prevent deadlock and continue working in the presence of a single failure.
