The second-generation HRA methods seem promising in providing the opportunity of realistically assessing the HPE to introduce into a PSA process. This is particularly true for the ATHEANA method that is, by mission, a quantitative method. The inconvenience common to all methods is the inherent complexity that makes them hard to be both understood and correctly applied. Despite few provisional constraints mainly traceable to transitory technological limitations, such as forces and sense of touch transmission, VR in this respect could be the way out for allowing to easy and lighten their application and thus attracting the interest of industry's people in their systematic application.
