摘要

We have now presently 20 cities in the Autonomous Region (province) , among them 7 are municipalities, 13 are cities at county level administratively. Additionally we have still 68 towns. The percentage rate of urbanization is 44. 06% . Since the beginning of the ninth Five-Year-Plan, the Committees of the Chinese Communist Party and governments at all level across the Region liberate their thoughts, innovate their concepts, having been putting priority onto the promotion of urbanization, have made great efforts in urban planning and administration, macro regulation and leadership, capital raising & induction, city management etc. , the speed of urbanization in our region is obviously speeded up. Especially since the implementation of state active finance policy in 1998, and also with advantage of the Grand West Development Program, our provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the government have increased capital input in the field of infrastructure further more, the speed of city and town construction and development goes up steadily, urban economic, social and environmental profits increase noticeably. All of these have made considerable contributions to economic and social developments of the whole region.
