Examining destination choice behavior has received substantial attention in tourism research. Among the models proposed in previous studies, a majority have focused on examining the process of making destination decisions and factors affecting decisions. This study is built upon the psychology discipline and attempted a deeper investigation to examine destination choice model of the multi-destination travelers. Based on the theories related to variety-seeking behavior and destination choice models, it proposed a theoretical framework to examine the impact of previous experience and personality, via the mediation of motivations, on multi-destination choice in long-haul vacation travel.
