A process-based watershed model, called DWSM: Dynamic Watershed Simulation Model, simulating rainfall driven surface and subsurface runoff, propagation of flood waves, upland soil and streambed erosion, and transport of sediment and agrochemical in agricultural and rural watersheds, is presented. Application of the model to the 250-km~2 Court Creek watershed in Knox County, Illinois, U.S.A. is presented. The hydrology and sediment components were calibrated and validated using monitored rainfall, stream flow and sediment discharge data during severe rainfall events. The calibrated and validated model was used to identify runoff and soil erosion potentials of overland areas, and rank them. Stream reaches and their contributing catchments were also ranked. Brief description of the model and Court Creek watershed results are presented.
