摘要

A suggested method for estimating pump performance and trending to detect long term wear without the aid of an installed flow meter. A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that was already installed for normal control of a pump installation, was adapted and re-programmed to carry out the timing and calculations necessary to estimate the fluid throughput and pump performance. The method is dependent on an assumption of constant inflow and a sump with a regular form and an easily calculable change of volume. The method can also be applied to manually timed testing of pumps.
