The mechanical integrity (MI) requirements of OSHA's process safety management rules, can provide a good launch pad for improved reliability and increased profits. One of the beneficial things about the MI requirements, is the manner in which it forces us to think of assets not just in terms of the whole, but also the components that make up the whole.
