With traditional Halogenated and Fluorochemical coating additives receiving increasing environmental attention, latex binders that have flame retardant monomers and water repellant monomers incorporated into the polymer backbone have been prepared. The performance characteristics of these materials are compared to traditional latex-based compounded coatings.
