摘要

The relation of denitrification activity and the natural organic carbon content of the agricultural and pristine peat soils were studied in laboratory. In the cultivated soils N_2O (nitrous oxide) production varied from 0.1 to 2.4 μg N_2O-N g dry weight~(-1) h~(-1) but in the samples from the natural peatland there was no N_2O production. N_2O fluxes correlated strongly with the content of C and N compounds in the soil and thus the results indicated that nitrogen and carbon cycles in agricultural peat soils are closely connected and that soil properties could probably be used for obtaining better estimates of N_2O fluxes from agricultural peat soils.
