This study is part of a larger project where adaptation of boreal peatland ecosystem to autogenic and allogenic factors are studied using horizontal and vertical approaches. In this project (AUTOPEAT) spatial and temporal variation in vegetation and carbon dynamics is under investigation. The study presented here is a paleoecological view based on two peat cores.
