摘要

Our aim was to study the peat accumulation rate at Cu polluted ombrotrophic peat bogs. A peat core (15cm x 15cm x 100cm) was collected from Sphagnum dominated ombrotrophic peat bogs at Outokumpu (Cu-mining), at Harjavalta (Cu-smelting) and at a background site Hietajaervi. The Harjavalta bog was clearly the most polluted one (max. Cu concentration ca. 1300 mg kg~(-1)). Based on ~(210)Pb dating, also the recent peat sedimentation rate (past 125 years) was clearly the lowest at Harjavalta. However, a longer term peat accumulation rate based on conventional ~(14)C age dating of a deeper sample (150cm) was highest at Harjavalta.
