The aim of this study was to determine the technical quality of young Scots pine on drained peatlands. The data included 15 stands the site types of which were Vaccinium vitis-idaea transformed type (Ptkg) and dwarf-shrub transformed type (Vatkg). On Ptkg stands 62% and on Vatkg stands 57% of the sample trees were totally free from defects. The most common defects were crooks, branchiness and sweep. The quality of the remaining trees was higher than the quality of the harvested trees, and 78% of the harvested trees and 90% of the remaining trees contained a stem part that could be sawn.
