Recreation on cutaway peatlands can be achieved as soon as the land has been successfully reclaimed or restored. Which recreation and outdoor pursuits can be offered depends on the form of after use applied on the former peat production site and its location and characteristics. Financial contribution from visitors and public understanding for wetland restoration can be achieved with simple and little input in some areas; in larger and more heavily visited areas more effort can lead to greater outcome. How good and successful recreation on cutaway peatlands will be depends on appropriate design, the planning and its implementation.
