Mix design of high performance Hybrid-Fibre Concrete (HFC) is characterized by combining different types of steel fibres in optimized concrete mixtures. This approach results in a tremendous improvement of tensile and flexural strength and of ductility as well. In this paper, mix design principles will be presented first. Subsequently, the results of uniaxial tensile and flexural tests for different types of HFC will be given, followed by the analysis of fibre distribution. At the end, technical and economical advantages of utilization of HFC, together with principles and possibilities for utilization, will be analysed.
