摘要

Detailed analyses of the weathering processes indicate that the decomposition can be attributed mainly to continuously changing temperature and moisture gradients, partly in conjunction with frost and ice formation as well as to partially arising crystallisation processes of solved salts in the stone. For the description of the deterioration process due to these main actions, which lead to a gradual failure of the grain bonding proceeding from the surface to inner parts of the cross section, an appropriate model for the weathering of sandstone is presently being developed.
