There have been more and more satellite images in educational books since a few years. The LTRSS project, started in September 1998 at the IUFM Midi-Pyrenees in France, is about building a remote sensing data tutorial and image lexical to help teachers and their students to understand satellite images. It helps teachers and pupils learn more about the oceans, the atmosphere and biosphere via images from observation satellites.
