摘要

The electrochemical regeneration of chromium containing solutions, like plating or treatment baths and their spare tank waters, includes the removal of side ions and the re-oxidation of three-valent chromium. This paper describes kinetics studies on several anode materials and the determination of technological conditions for optimized regeneration processes in divided electrochemical cells with high current efficiencies and low cell voltages. The studied systems were diluted chromate solutions typical for some chromate conversion coating baths (chromodizing) or spare tank waters, and hard-chromium electrolytes for aluminum and aluminum alloys. Two- and three-compartment cells with several separator materials were used. The oxidation of three-valent chromium was realized on lead-lead dioxide anodes.
