摘要

The present work deals with the preparation of ruthenium and manganese mixed oxides by thermal decomposition of precursors, to be used as electroactive material on DSA~(~R) electrodes. On the basis of a structural analysis, the existence of a solid solution of rutile type structure with the stoichiometry Ru_xMn_(1-x)O_2 (≈ 0.6 < x < 1) has been demonstrated. The behavior of this material for the chlorine electrode reaction has been evaluated, verifying that the mixed oxide has a better intrinsic electrocatalytic activity than RuO_2 when x ≌ 0.8.
