摘要

The present paper describes the state of the art of multistage centrifugal pumps used for descaling installations in the production of tonnage steel. The special requirements on the pumps are described with focus on operating point, operation mode, NPSH and solids-induced wear. Different pump designs - ring-section, barrel-type and axially split single-entry pumps - are treated. Bearings and shaft seals are described and the material selection reasoned. The pump set consisting of pump, motor, baseplate, etc. is described. Finally, the operation of the machines is addressed.
