The Altai-Sayan orogenic area (ASOA) and metallogenic province, as a part of the global Central-Asian orogenic belt, were formed during long-term development of the Paleoasian Ocean and their continental margins. It is an example of typical polyaccretionary orogenic system. A certain trend is noted in the evolution of ore-forming processes of the ASOA. The early stage of metallogenic development is related to the origin of Paleoasian ocean and destructive processes of Siberian Craton margins in the Early Riphean. The successive accretion of island arcs of various ages and formation of active continental margins in the Early and Middle Paleozoic was of great importance for metallogeny. The postorogenic stages of metallogenic development are related to intraplate geodynamics resulted from the Siberian Permian-Triassic superplume formation, the manifestations of interblock shift movements and intraplate rifting accompanied by mantle and mantle-crust ore-forming systems.There are four main stages of geodynamic and metallogenic development of the Altai-Sayan orogenic area.
