This paper is a concise description of the usability development cycle of the Siemens Gigaset E 150, a cordless phone designed for all. That includes, but not specifically addresses, the needs of elderly and disabled users. At the beginning, this paper reports about the collection of user requirements for the envisaged target group by market research, expert reports, end-user interviews and usability tests. It then describes briefly the developed product and the results of a benchmark test with a competitor product that confirmed the suitability of the user-interface concept.
