This paper studied the high-speed, efficient transmission of image data in the system of geographic information-services. Considering the using character of spatial data, the original image is quickly processed into four parts based on the Lifting Wavelet, then different parts are compressed respectively by different algorithms based on the technology of JPEG2000, last they are transmitted and visualized in ordered layers. As a result, the response of system becomes more quickly and the total data to be transmitted becomes less, and at the same time the clients get Multi-Scale images.
