Following repeated rolling and folding of Cu-Cd multilayers, the solubility of Cd in Cu increases beyond the equilibrium limit. The correlation of the lattice parameter measurements to the solute concentration is discussed. Based on the estimation of the T_0 limit, it is demonstrated that for Cd concentrations of 12 at% and less, bulk non-equilibrium solid-solutions can be synthesized.
