For the purpose of solving the problems of the conventional arch culvert methods with a large overburden, RCC Culvert (RCCC) using Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) has been developed with a half ellipse arch shape. This culvert shape is determined so as to keep the culvert body in compression. Therefore, steel reinforcement is not required for the body. This enables the construction very easy. Furthermore, RCCC can sustain a large overburden if the concrete strength is large enough. This paper presents the analytical design method and the construction procedure of RCCC.
