The paper deals with problems of combinations of wind and thermal actions of climatic origin on the level of two-dimensional random variable (V,T) where random variables V and T of values v and T denote respectively the ten-minutes mean wind velocity and the 24-hours mean ambient air temperature. Examples of various experimentally determined probability density functions f(v, τ) are given and a way of precise determination of coincidence coefficients of the analyzed actions is proposed; this may be useful in standardization of this problem. Moreover, problems of description of 24-hours transient temperatures in summer and winter are also presented. In the second part of the paper, the results of static-strength calculations of 150 m - high cooling tower for several different possible combinations of wind w and thermal τ actions and dead load g are considered and analyzed.
