This paper treats the stress state in structural elements used for construction of different wood furniture. Analysis of stresses for structural elements had been made experimentally and theoretical. In this way, authors have conceived and achieved an original holographic stand, which allows stimulation of the main stresses which appears in exploitation of different wood subsystems. Experimental results, both qualitative and quantitative, were used for a further FEM (Finite Elements Method) modelling process. In this way the authors obtained some useful results for furniture designers. Using these experimental and numerical results, the authors obtained some substructures with a higher stiffness by diminishing of the wood material consumption. The experimental validation of the FEM modelling results allowed the authors to establish some new modelling for substructure elements, very useful both for wood-industry and furniture design.
