摘要

A foaming waste glass (FWG) material was newly developed from waste glass and other waste glasses. This material is light because of its porous structure which consists of continuous or discontinuous void, but considerably stiff. Firstly, the production of FWG and the unique engineering properties of the FWG material from some laboratory tests are presented in the paper. Secondary its effective utilization is investigated by the laboratory and field tests. It can be said the FWG material is more excellent than the expanded polystyrene (EPS) as lightweight fill material. Finally, it is concluded that the material can be utilized as light weight fill material, subgrade or subbase improvement material, light weight concrete material, vegetation material and other materials.
