The preliminary choice for foundation pit bracing scheme was based on SWER analysis technology, namely, Strengths, Weaknesses, Emergences, and Realizations, all of which are factors during the filtration for deep foundation pit bracing scheme in a material edifice. Quantitative evaluation index, expressed by trapezoid fuzzy number, transformed from qualitative evaluation index in preliminary choice can be obtained by using Fuzzy MADM, and then the fuzzy weight value of every influence factor can be normalized by using the Dubois-Prade method, and the fuzzy utility values of every foundation pit bracing scheme are calculated and compared with the fuzzy utility value in order to get the best bracing scheme. Studies had demonstrated that the uncertainty, dizziness and the mutual interaction of each factor should not be underestimated when deep foundation pit bracing scheme was chosen besides considering geology condition, construction technology, investment, surrounding environment, etc. This method has certain directive significance to the practical project compared with conventional method, which provides a comprehensive, reasonable and scientific basis for design, construction and management of foundation pit bracing.
