YRCC has adopted and is developing the integrated flood management system (IFMS) in the Yellow River basin. As a component of IFMS, Yellow River Conservancy Commission is implementing a state - of — the - art, GIS — based, flood warning and forecasting system for the Xiao - Hua Reach. To contribute to the development of the system which will provide sufficient lead — time of flood prediction with adequate accuracy for the flood combating command, the ADB Technical Assistance has examined the following fundamental features: (ⅰ) relevancy of the data collection system for hydrological inputs, and (ⅱ) applicability of several hydrological simulation models in the view of predictability and accuracy of the system.
