Based on establishing a spatial model for survey siltation and scouring between cross sections in river channel, the paper puts forward various deducing methods of distance between cross sections and discusses their calculation, assesses the characteristic of advantages and disadvantages for various methods and finally recommends applying the method of generalized distance between cross sections with equivalent volume principle in engineering practice.
