This paper puts forward four key important measures of the realignment of Luoyang reach in near future according to the special conditions of the reach: ① The arrangement of the water release works of Xixiayuan Multi - purpose Project should take the impacts of the water on the lower reaches into account. ② River dredging measures must be taken at once. ③ Channel improvement works should be completed further. ④ Transportation condition for flood control should be improved and the protection for the infrastructures of flood control should be strengthened.
