The article studies the issues of water - protective activities as an integral element of the surface water use. Water protective activities as an integral element of the water resources use process should be aimed at restoration and preservation of water body geo/ ecocystems at the level that permits to maintain and reproduce the biota optimal existence conditions on the basis of the social/economic system and basin geo/ecosystem "coexistence". Maintaining of the restroed water bodies conditions should be based on resources - saving economic technologies and perfect systems of water resources protection against pollution and depletion. Watercourses and water bodies ability to produce optimal for human vital activity conditions and to stisfy the demands for resources.
