This paper proposes an algorithm for solving a network reconfiguration problem which takes a fault state into consideration. Since the problem is formulated as the mixed integer problem, it is too difficult to solve large-scale problems accurately in practical computation time. The basic idea of the proposed solution algorithm is to introduce the tabu search method into the problem. Switching operation for reconfiguring network corresponds to 0-1 integer decision variable. Optimum function in the tabu search decides optimal on-off switching operation in a neighborhood for an existing network configuration. The tabu list contains a certain length of successive on-off switching operation to avoid cycling of switching operation. The validity of the algorithm is demonstrated by applying the proposed algorithm to an electric power distribution network system.
