In this paper, we discuss the determination of the lead time in the ordering policy with only finite minimal repairs. The state of the system failure continues between the failure after the final allowed minimal repair (system failure) and the replacement by a new unit delivered after a lead time if the system failure occurs by the delivery and otherwise the delivered unit is put into the inventory until the system failure. We apply the expected cost per unit time in the steady-state as a criterion of optimality introducing several costs, and discuss the optimal policies, i.e. the optimal lead times minimizing this expected cost. It is shown that there exists a finite and unique optimal policy under a certain condition.
