Silver nanoparticles/graphene oxide (AgNPs/GO) nanocoposites were prepared by one-step in situ synthetic method, with graphene oxide and AgNO_3 used as the raw materials. Factors that affect the physicochemical properties of the nanocomposites, such as pH, reaction temperature, reaction time and the ratio of AgNO_3/GO, were explored to obtain optimum reaction conditions. The obtained nanocomposites were characterized with UV visible absorption spectroscopy(UV-vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The average size of the AgNPs anchored on the graphene surface was about 10 nm. The antibacterial properties of AgNPs/GO were tested against Escherichia coli. And this nanocomposites exhibited a strong antibacterial activity at rather low dose. This work provides a simple and environmentally friendly approach to the preparation of AgNPs/GO nanocomposites with promising antibacterial.
