LENLS 2005 was held at the Kitakyushu International Conference Center, Ki-takyushu, Japan on June 13-14, 2005 as one of the international workshops collocated with the 19th Annual Conference of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI 2005). The workshop was a sequel of LENLS 2004. LENLS was founded with the intent of establishing a forum where formal studies of natural-language semantics and pragmatics are presented and promoting the discipline of studies in Japan. To our delight, the workshop has grown in terms of the number of abstract submission, the number of presentations, the quality of papers, the number of participants, and the days of meeting. The general theme of the workshop was information structure and dynamic semantics. One of the characteristics of natural languages in contrast to formal languages is the existence of plural (atomic) sentences of the same propositional content but of distinct morphosyntactic and/or phonological features, as in word order, intonation, etc.
