Prediction of Amorphous Alloys Formation Prepared by Electroless Plating

The regularity of formation of the amorphous alloys by electroless plating (EP) is studied by plotting two dimensional figure with Miedema's coordinates ΔΦ~* and Δn_(ws)~(-1/3) and three dimensional figure with chemical coordinates adding the size factor ΔR/R_A. The EP experimental data of 50 binary and ternary alloys are analyzed. The criteria for formation of amorphous alloys is as follows: in Miedema's coordinates, ΔΦ~*>6.9|Δn_(ws)~(-1/3)|, with the total accuracy larger than 84%; in three dimensions figure, |ΔR/R_A |>0.14[1-|Δn_(ws)~(-1/3)/(-0.01)- ΔΦ~*0.08], with the total accuracy lager than 86%.
