A comprehensive noise study will be carried out in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This paper gives some results from a pilot study. The noise situation in the big cities of the Emirate is dominated by road traffic noise. The street side noise levels are relatively high. However, due to the lay-out of the city, the interior of the city blocks have quite satisfactory noise levels around Lden 55 dB.
