摘要

A nonlinear dynamic model of kraftrnpulping of southern pine, based onrnreal-time liquor analysis, has beenrndeveloped.The liquor analysis methodrneliminates the difficulty of having tornwithdraw pulp samples under highpressurernand -temperature cookingrnconditions. Effective alkali, sulfide concentration,rntotal solids, and the ligninrncontent of the cooking liquor arernmeasured on-line using conductivity,rnion chromatography, refractive index,rnand ultraviolet absorbance analysis.rnA material balance model is used tornpredict the wood composition every 5rnminutes from the liquor analysis data.rnKraft cooking experiments withrnseveral initial effective alkali and sulfidityrnlevels were conducted in a laboratoryrndigester on screened softwoodrn(southern pine) chips. The modelrnparameters identified from the experimentalrndata are comparable withrnthe literature values and are withinrnthe parameter range for kraft pulping.rnThe validity of the mathematicalrnmodel was tested, and the model wasrnfound to be in good agreement withrnexperimental data.This lumped-parameterrnmodel, in conjunction withrnliquor analysis, can be used in processrnmonitoring, estimation, and controlrnapplications.
