摘要

The short-time development of modem products requires more and more the use of modern design methods instead of "trial and error", because the complexity of these products increases. The development of suitable design methods and design tools is therefore necessary. The group of drive technology on the faculty of mechanical engineering has been spent a lot of time with the development of design tools for DC pot-type magnets. A big enterprise working internationally ordered a design system called STURGEON [1]. Taking repetitive work and high productivity into account, the aim was a decisive shortening of the design process with the proviso that the quality increases. Design tools were solely used in CAD or field simulation up to this time. Because of this, the main goal was to encourage all design steps prescribed in VDI 2221 in the new system. The presentation shows the problems during the adaptation of software to the needs of small-business companies and presents the concept of a computer-assisted compound to support the small-business companies.
