Quick, easy and reliable simulation is desirable for conceptual design and object-oriented representation is desirable for a function-means tree based approach to conceptual design. This paper describes how an object-oriented design representation is used to automatically generate models by reusing model code. The basis for doing this is port types which have foundations in both modelling and conceptual design.
