Continuously increasing ship speeds and propeller loading, as well as more focus on reducing vibrationrnand noise level, has inspired to a continuous improvement of the propulsion performance.rnThe Efficiency Rudder offers substantial fuel savings and reduction of vibration and noise level, withoutrnintroducing much more complicated and expensive systems. The large installed power on +20-22 knotsrnvessels also give a short payback time of the Efficiency Rudder.rnThe requirement to lower the vibration and noise level onboard is continuously becoming stricter. Morernship owners also want a Comfort Class notation on new vessels. Due to the high propeller loading thernpressure impulses against hull and vibration level is much influenced by the gradients and fluctuation ofrnthe water inflow to the propeller. Then it is favourable that the presence of the integrated rudder torpedorngives a large reduction of the vibration and noise level.
