The high temperature strength of three 6060-alloys, with different contents of Mg and Sirnhas been determined by Gleeble tensile testing. Testing has been carried out in therntemperature range 470-580℃ with strain rates of 5/sec or 0.5/sec. It has been found that:rn(1) the strength increases with increasing amounts of Mg and Si, (b) the strengthrndifferences between the three alloys increases with decreasing temperature, and ? thernstrength difference in percentage seems to be more or less similar for all temperatures.rnThere is a significant adiabatic heating of the samples. It is found that the adiabaticrnheating depends upon the content of Mg and Si in the alloys.
